Profile

Established in 2004, Inland Architects is an architecture firm located in downtown Bakersfield, California. Our firm has grown and expanded over the years but our desire to build in partnership with our clients remains the foundation of our practice. Our client list includes corporations, public agencies, private developers, non-profits, and private owners. We believe in building a strong relationship with our clients and accredit approximately 80 percent of our projects from repeat clients.

Beginning with residential projects, we expanded our scope to cover a variety of project types and scaled from private homes to commercial buildings. Now, after 13 years of experience our work primarily consists of light commercial and residential projects. Our commercial projects consist of new buildings, tenant improvements, and renovation work, ranging from 5,000 to 20,000 square feet. Currently our project portfolio is around 60 percent commercial and 40 percent residential

Design Philosophy

We believe that buildings should have a strong connection to both their environment and their purpose. Our primary goal in serving clients is to design an “appropriate” solution to their needs.

Each project begins by gaining an understanding of the needs and qualities of the built environment that our client wants to achieve. We always take into account each client’s time line and budget, and work together to develop a shared vision of the building’s potential. As the project progresses, we keep our clients up-to-speed by creating plans and renderings that effectively communicate our design intent. We work closely with our clients, consultants, and general contractors to ensure that the original goals are carried through from initial planning to the completion of construction. We always strive to develop a level of trust and mutual respect with our clients, and assure the timely sharing of project relevant information; good or bad.
